월간보고서 4 (12월)

안녕하세요. 싱크탱크 인턴십 GIGA 파견자 양소연입니다.
GIGA도 CSIS와 마찬가지로 12월은 업무가 적은 편입니다. 특히 21일 월요일부터 2주간은 대부분의 연구원들이 휴가를 가지고 있습니다. 저의 경우에는 12월 동안 Patrick Köllner, Ariel Ahram, Rudra Sil 교수님 외 여러 분이 함께 집필 중이신 비교지역연구 관련 단행본 편집 작업 마무리를 돕는 한편, 제 논문 초고를 거의 완성하였습니다. 해당 논문에 대해 수퍼바이저Köllner박사님께서 North Korean Review에의 투고를 제안하셔서 진행 중에 있습니다.
이하에서는 개인연구 외 이번 달에 참여한 회의 및 학술세미나 일정을 중심으로 자세한 소식을 알려드리도록 하겠습니다. 특히, GIGA에서 1년에 한 번씩 진행하는, 다음 해의 각 연구원의 연구주제를 서로 공유하고 GIGA Focus등의 대략적인 주제와 연간 계획을 세우는 Retreat 회의에 참석하여 많은 것을 배울 수 있었습니다.

I was in charge of drafting the minute for the meeting. The meeting was mainly about research structure and funding planning for the next year, and discussions and brainstorming for the topics for GIGA Focus and other journals and expected conferences/roundtables were made as well.
